Hockerton Housing Project

Within the site there are areas dedicated for food production (including fruit, vegetables, fish rearing and bee keep-ing) and communal art/recreation. The residents share communal maintenance tasks as well as bills and have established a LETS scheme and a formal consultancy business.

Sherwood Energy Village is a social enterprise initiative emerging after colliery closure and shaped by extensive local consultation. It is owned primarily by local shareholders and will apply its profits to benefit that community.
